Family Farm Shop Celebrates Double Win at Business Awards

Family business celebrating award success at prestigious ceremony

A popular Derbyshire farm shop and café has earned recognition at a prestigious national awards ceremony, taking home two significant honors at the 2025 Family Business United Awards.

The Duffield-based establishment secured first place in the People's Choice Award for the Midlands category, alongside being named runner-up for the Midlands Family Business of the Year honor.

Steve and Kay, who operate the thriving business together, expressed their gratitude following the announcement. Steve emphasized that while the recognition as a family venture is meaningful, their success wouldn't be possible without their dedicated team.

"Winning this award means so much to us as a family operation, but we couldn't achieve any of this without our incredible staff," Steve shared. "They're truly an extension of our family, and we're grateful for their dedication and commitment to what we've built together."

The couple also thanked their loyal customer base and everyone who cast votes in the People's Choice category, along with supporters of family-run businesses throughout the region and beyond.

The recognition came at a gala event held at London's distinguished May Fair Hotel, marking nearly nine years since the farm shop first welcomed customers through its doors.

Located at Farnah House Farm on Wirksworth Road—the family home of Kay's parents—the business has experienced remarkable growth since launching in 2008.

Kay highlighted the importance of their team culture: "We're absolutely a family enterprise, and our employees are truly part of that extended family. Many team members have been with us from day one. Their loyalty is exceptional, and they share our vision and values. We take care of them because they're part of something bigger."
